I had a TI-83, also $100, but it was my Christmas present in 8th grade, and by 'Christmas present' I mean 'my only Christmas present aside from some socks and maybe a paperback book.' It wasn't a normal school supply, in other words.

I just found it when I was moving, actually. I used it through college. And by 'through college' I mean 'for both classes I took in five years that required math and/or a calculator: statistics and acoustics.'

My fourth grade teacher died when I was in ninth grade. That was my first bit of weirdness.
