Yesterday, Molly and I went to the Delaware County Fair. It was the first time we'd been to this county fair, and we enjoyed ourselves. We checked out a lot of animals: chickens, ducks, turkeys, rabbits, sheep, horses, cows, goats, llamas, alpacas, donkeys, miniature horses, etc. We also visited the arts and crafts building and the commercial buildings, and we watched a few of the horse races. Molly's favorite things to see were the goats, like she raised in 4-H.
Another recent event was buying a new cage for our gerbil, Rosie. She had chewed up all the plastic parts of her previous cage. She chewed up the shelves, she chewed on the cage bars, she chewed on the harder plastic tubes, she chewed on her wooden house, she chewed the running wheel off the axle and then she chewed up the wheel, she even was chewing up her food dish until we replaced it with a ceramic one. Gerbils chew a lot! You can see Rosie in her first cage here. This is her new home. She really seems to like the two and a half levels, more space, and new things to chew on!
